John Alexander is a pro session drummer from Edinburgh, Scotland. recently playing with award winning country giants Raintown (Best Band at The BCMA's) and L.A. based pop singer Fiona Grey and up and coming Indie band Skjør amongst many others. John is also the owner of Drum Central, Scotland's finest drum superstore.

John has developed a reputation for solid and creative drumming. Having toured and recorded with many established acts John is as at home in the studio playing to a click as he is on the road playing to thousands.​



Highlights in John's career so far have included mainstage performances at a number of major UK festivals support slots with Runrig and The Twilight Sad and tours of Europe and The U.K. 

In the studio,  John's playing can be heard on Posable Action Figures' 2016 single release 'Cut' which has been played on Radio 1 and Radio Scotland.

John augments his live set up with a Roland SPDSX which allows him to add modern pop sounds as well as triggered synth or bass lines to any band.

As well as drumkit John is a capable backing vocalist and also plays guitar when required. He has also toured extensively on Cajon.

John also works as a drum tutor, teaching a wide range of students from complete beginner to advanced, boasting a 100% pass rate amongst students at both SQA and Rockschool graded exams.  For more info on tuition click here
